The IKS Botka was a Klingon Defense Force ship that secretly served the House of Duras along with nine others.
- The ship is also spelled as BotKa.
The Chancellor of the Klingon High Council Gowron had personally made cha'DIch, son of hiJaK, the ship's commanding officer; despite this, cha'DIch allied with the Duras sisters against him and in a 2370 attempt they tried to seize power from Gowron.
In 2370 it was one of the ten ships that escorted Q'uarath above Qo'noS, where Lursa and B'Etor planned the assassination of Gowron, who was leading some talks between the Klingon Empire and the United Federation of Planets. When the sisters chose to resolve the matter personally and go to Deep Space 9, where Gowron stayed, they ordered BotKa to follow.
The two ships arrived to the station, but soon after, Prakesh with another Cardassian ship also arrived to warn Benjamin Sisko. The USS Enterprise was also there. With information from Nibo Hoq, they learned that Gowron was the first person leaving the station once the shields were down, to return to his ship.
With this information, the BotKa abducted Gowron during the split second the shields were down, and beamed him in a dark room surrounded by a force field; with him were his guards, RocIa and uQvam, but also Starfleet Admiral Edward Jellico, who had stepped on Gowron's pad, being invited to his ship, and was beamed along with him.
Immediately, the two ships were cloaked and left for Imperial space in Warp factor 8. The Prakesh in vain fired a shot to their direction, then, with it started pursuing, followed by the BortaS and the Enterprise. The Duras sisters wondered how the ships, that were gaining at Warp 9, could follow them. At Lursa's command, the two ships decloaked in order to proceed to Warp 9.1, and also sent subspace messages.
Soon the Enterprise managed to gain, come over the ships, and fire, causing BotKa to lose speed. From the changes of speed Gowron guessed that they were pursued, and during an energy shortage, his guards managed to destroy the door locks. Meanwhile, the ships moved apart, and the Enterprise continued to pursue the BotKa.
Gowron with his guards reached the bridge and seized the ship, killing three of the crew. Seeing who was the ship's commanding officer, Gowron scolded him for his betrayal, and he soon executed him when he made a move against him. uQvam and RocIa manned the consoles and saw in the viewscreen the Enterprise. He hailed her to thank Jean-Luc Picard, while the Q'uarath was fleeing. He returned to the BortaS, and the Botka was taken under control by two of Gowron's fleet ships and followed them to Deep Space 9.
As the talks on the station were nearing completion, six birds-of-prey led by the Duras sisters arrived near the station, and Botka took defensive position next to the BortaS. (TNG novelization: Klingon)
