The IKS K'mpec was a Qang-class Klingon heavy cruiser starship in Imperial Defense Force service in the 24th century, named for the late chancellor, K'mpec.
- The K'mpec was initially established in the Klingon Glossary of Diplomatic Implausibility, though not in the text of the novel. It had apparently just entered service by 2376, as in 2374 there was an IKS K'mpec of the Negh'Var-class active.
The K'mpec was active in 2376, just after the end of the Dominion War. (GKN novel: Enemy Territory)
In that year, the IKS Slivin was part of Captain Klag's fleet that opposed General Talak. The Slivin engaged the K'mpec during the battle in orbit of San-Tarah and was destroyed by the Qang-class vessel. (KE novel: Honor Bound)
