For other uses, see Ketha.

The IKS Ketha was a 25th century Klingon Empire raptor escort starship, the Ketha-class recon raptor prototype in Klingon Defense Force service in the early 2410s decade. (STO - Victory Is Life mission: "The Hunt is On")

History[]

Following the ravages of the Iconian War in 2410, the Khitomer Alliance tasked the Advanced Starship Design Bureau to replace the spacecraft losses suffered by Alliance fleets. (STO Issue 05: "U.S.S. Buran NCC-96400")

Starfleet and the Klingon Defense Force cooperated in the development of new tier 6 destroyers based on the Federation's New Orleans-class frigate of the 24th century and the Klingon raptor escorts of the 25th century. The Ketha represented the Empire's Ketha class. Its Starfleet counterpart was the Lafayette-class recon destroyer USS Lafayette (NCC-91200). Along with the retrofitted New Orleans class, the recon destroyers were the first ships equipped with the hyper-focusing trinary array. (STO website: Victory Is Life: Announcing the Recon Destroyer Bundle!)

The Ketha was named after the home province of the celebrated General Martok. (STO video game: Victory Is Life, C-Store description)

Following their launch, the Ketha and Lafayette performed joint maneuvers. (STO website: Victory Is Life: Recon Destroyer Bundle Stats!)

The IKS Ketha could be deployed by the admiralty for assignments with other ships. (STO mission: "New Dawn" game mechanic: "Admiralty System")

In Klingon shipyard interfaces, the Ketha visually represented its class from 2410 onwards. (STO - Empire mission: "The Hunt is On")
