The IKS Klolode II was a Klingon starship in service in the 23rd century. In 2269, the Klolode II was commanded by Captain Kang. (TOS novels: Pawns and Symbols, Excelsior: Forged in Fire)

Service history and disposition[]

In the year 2269 the IKS Devisor—under the command of Kang's friend Koloth—was overrun with yIH and the crew came down with a retrovirus created by Doctors Hurghom and Nej to attempt to reverse the changes brought about by the Augment virus. While the Klingon Defense Force wished to destroy the Devisor, Kang and the Klolode II interceded on Koloth's behalf, keeping the ship from being destroyed until the survivors could be placed into quarantine. Koloth and a few fortunate Quch'Ha Klingons had their ridges and other Hem'Quch features restored at that time. (TOS novel: Excelsior: Forged in Fire)

The Klolode II was likely named as the successor to the IKS Klolode which was the name of Kang's command in "Day of the Dove" as specified by various licensed and fan fiction sources alike.

Later that year, Kang's battlecruiser arrived in response to a distress signal from the destroyed Klingon colony on Tarnak II and discovered the starship USS Enterprise in orbit, with sensor scans showing Federation weapons signatures on the surface. The cruiser chased the Enterprise into the system's asteroid belt, destroying several asteroids to maintain pursuit, but eventually was struck by an asteroid. Damage to the ship's warp drive allowed the Enterprise to escape. (TOS - The Chosen comic: "The Hunted")

Not long afterward, Kang's cruiser chased the Enterprise into Romulan space, joining Koram's Bird-of-Prey and the Enterprise to identify and capture a Metan starship and prevent all-out war. But when Starfleet elected to have the Enterprise tow the invader back for trial, Koram and Kang jointly destroyed the vessel with their ships' disruptors. (TOS - The Chosen comic: "Collision Course!")
