For the primary universe counterpart, see AKS Krenn.
For other uses, see Korath.

The IKS Korath was a 29th century Federation Klingon-operated timeship/starship, a tier 5-rated Korath-class temporal science vessel and prototype of its class, in Imperial Defense Force service in the 2400s and 2410s[2] decades. (STO website: Under Siege: New Temporal Lock Box and Lobi Ships)

Service history and disposition[]

Namesake[]

Korath

Korath, son of Monak in 2404.

Korath, son of Monak was a Klingon scientist who developed a stable method to time travel. Despite his scientific accomplishment, he was of dubious character. (DTI novel: Watching the Clock)

In an alternate timeline, he developed the chrono-deflector in 2403, which was used by Vice Admiral Kathryn Janeway in 2404 to change the timeline in 2377. In return, she arranged a seat on the Klingon High Council for Korath. (VOY episode: "Endgame")

Active service[]

The Klingons had joined the Federation by the year 2554. (ENT episode: "Azati Prime")

However, the Klingon Defense Force maintained its own ships and classes. (STO website: Reckoning: 26 Century Dreadnoughts Stats!)

Klingon timeships

Klingon timeships Krenn, Korath and Rozhenko.

The Korath operated in the 29th century. It was technologically a match for Starfleet's Temporal Integrity Commission[3] Wells-class temporal science vessel. The IKS Korath and USS Wells-A were each equipped with a Tipler cylinder. The Korath's mirror universe counterpart was the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance Krenn-class temporal destroyer AKS Krenn. (STO website: Under Siege: New Temporal Lock Box and Lobi Ships)

Their Romulan counterpart was the R'Mor-class temporal science vessel RRW R'Mor. (STO website: Legacy of Romulus: The Romulan Temporal Ships)

Their part of the 29th century was involved in the Temporal Cold War. STO - Agents of Yesterday mission: "The Once and Future Agent")

The newer Qul'poH-class temporal science vessel IKS Qul'poH was an evolution of the Korath's design. (STO website: Emergence: The Evolution of the Infinity Lock Box)

During the establishment of the Romulan Republic in the Tau Dewa sector block and the sector block's invasion by the Tholians in 2409, the Korath was among the starships of the 29th century Federation targeted by the Tholian Assembly. While the Korath performed flights, sister ships were captured by the Tholians and acquired by the Lobi Crystal Consortium, who sold them to the Khitomer Alliance. (STO website: Under Siege: New Temporal Lock Box and Lobi Ships)

From 2410 onwards, the Korath its class on the shipyards interfaces operated by New Romulus Shipyards, Klingon Defense Force Order of Builders and Starfleet Shipyards Operations at Khitomer Alliance facilities across the Milky Way Galaxy. (STO - Refractions missions: "The Hunt is On", "Explore the Flotilla", "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")

Flag officers of the Alliance could deploy the Korath alongside other spacecraft for assignments across the galaxy's quadrants as part of Operation: Delta Rising's four-quadrant strategy. (STO - New Dawn mission: "Admiralty System")
