The IKS M'Char, also designated as IKS M'char, was a Klingon starship, a B'rel-class scout/bird of prey in Klingon Defense Force service in the 23rd and 24th centuries. The M'Char's commanding officer was Commander Kaybok. (DS9 novelization: The Way of the Warrior, ST video game: Trexels mission: Skirmish)

Specifications[]

Around stardate 73XX.6 (circa 2270), the M'Char was rated a level 1 battle group scout. It featured room for two officers and slots for three weapons or additional systems. Its deflector shields were rated 95, while the structural integrity field, or hull strength, topped at 250. (ST video game: Trexels mission: Skirmish)

History[]

As part of Federation Starfleet operations in the Trexelian Expanse, the IKS M'Char participated in the war games conducted by Starfleet and allied vessels from the 23rd and 24th centuries. (ST video game: Trexels mission: Skirmish)

The M'Char also saw action in conflicts with the Klingon Empire and Cardassian Union. (ST video game: Trexels mission: Events)

In 2372, the M'Char was part of the Klingon invasion fleet during the Klingon-Cardassian War. Under Commander Kaybok, the M'Char was detailed with searching civilian ships in the combat theatre (including Bajoran space) for possible changeling infiltrators. (DS9 episode: "The Way of the Warrior")

The M'Char followed the SS Xhosa from Deep Space 9. Twelve Klingons were killed when the Xhosa went to warp just as they were beaming over. (DS9 novelization: The Way of the Warrior)

By the time it finally stopped the Xhosa, the USS Defiant intervened. Kaybok relented, but was subsequently executed for disobeying orders. (DS9 episode: "The Way of the Warrior")

Martok, Paghal and several other fleet commanders had beamed aboard the M'Char. Kaybok was killed there by Paghal, who he had served with previously. (DS9 novelization: The Way of the Warrior)
