IKS Mat'Ha was a 25th century Klingon starship, a Mat'Ha-class raptor escort prototype in Imperial Defense Force service in the 2400s[1] and 2410s decades. (STO website: Delta Rising: Delta Rising Operations Pack)
Service history and disposition[]
Following the end of the Dominion War in 2375, General Qolar of KDF High Command suggested the KDF reintroduced the raptor escort fleet, situated tactically between capital battlecruiser and light bird of prey raider starships. Allowances in the Dominion War Accords amended the Khitomer Accords and allowed the KDF to redevelop raptors.
The Mat'Ha was developed during the Federation-Klingon War of 2405-2410 and entered service in the year 2408. At the time, the IKS Mat'Ha was the newest raptor in the KDF. The ship's design was a synergy between the modern Mogh-class battlecruiser and the historic Somraw-class raptor. (STO Issue 12: "IKS Mat'Ha")
Its class was one of several ship classes were commissioned by the three Khitomer Alliance powers for Operation Delta Rising in 2410. Besides intel starships, regular new tier 6 starship classes included the Mat'Ha raptor, Starfleet's Dauntless- and Guardian-classes, and the Romulan Republic Navy's Aelahl-class light warbird battlecruiser. During the operation, the Khitomer Alliance based forces in the Jenolan Dyson Sphere and expanded from there into the Vyntadi and Tekara sector blocks of the Delta Quadrant. (STO - Delta Quadrant mission: "Escalation")
From 2410 onward, the Mat'Ha represented its class in the Klingon shipyard operations interface. (STO - Klingon Sector mission: "The Hunt is On")
Khitomer Alliance flag officer in, or aligned with, the KDF, deployed Mat'Ha for missions around the galaxy's four quadrants as part of the four-quadrant strategy. (STO - Klingon Sector mission: "The Hunt is On", admiralty system)
