The IKS Qu'Vat (IKC-11591, also known as the IKC or IKV Qu'Vat) was a Klingon Empire starship, a Vor'cha-class attack cruiser (or battle cruiser) in Klingon Defense Force service in the late 24th century. (ST reference: The Star Trek Encyclopedia; CCG set: Premiere; Decipher RPG module: Starships)

Service history and disposition[]

In the year 2369, the Qu'Vat transported Governor Torak to a rendezvous with the Federation starship USS Enterprise-D to answer allegations of Klingon involvement in an incident aboard Relay Station 47. They brought with them Lieutenant Aquiel Uhnari, who was picked up after she left the space station on a shuttle. The Qu'Vat later transported Commander Morag to the Enterprise, as he had boarded the station after it was abandoned. (TNG episode: "Aquiel")

This ship was in active service in the 2370s decade, around the year 2379. (ST video game: Starfleet Command III)

No history or fate is established for this vessel in SFC3 as its name was randomly selected for a Vor'cha-class Klingon cruiser by the game software.

Background[]

While canon and CCG set: Premiere materials surrounding the use of the model use the term "attack cruiser" for the ship's type, the Decipher RPG and SFC3 refers to this and other Vor'cha ships as "battle cruisers", and BotF as battleships. It is not clear if the terms were synonymous or if, at some point, some Vor'cha vessels were outfitted to fill service as a different ship type. Decipher's manual assigns the Qu'Vat the name prefix "IKS", while BotF and the Star Trek Customizable Card Game use the IKC prefix and SFC3 uses IKV.
