The IKS T'Ong (also known as IKV T'Ong) was a Klingon Empire starship, a K't'inga-class D7 battle cruiser in service in the 23rd and 24th centuries.
Service history and disposition[]
In 2290, three years before the Khitomer Conference, the T'Ong, under the command of Captain K'Temoc, was ordered on a long-range tactical mission that was essential to the future of the Klingon Empire. In order to fascilitate the long-range and long-duration mission, the crew were placed in cryogenic suspension.
However 75 years later, the T'Ong was enroute back to the Empire when it was discovered that they would be crossing Federation territory and would encounter 13 lightly-defended colonies. Because the Federation and the Empire were enemies in the early 2290s it was widely suspected that when the crew of the T'Ong were awoken from cryo-suspension they would attack the colonies. The closest vessel capable of intercepting the T'Ong was the USS Enterprise-D and Starbase 336 sent Federation Special Emissary K'Ehleyr as an advisor. It was initially believed that the destruction of the T'Ong was unavoidable once the revived Klingons were confronted by their former adversary, but the T'Ong was saved when Lieutenant Worf masqueraded as the captain of the Enterprise and convinced K'Temoc that the Federation and the Klingon Empire were now at peace. (TNG episode: "The Emissary")
The T'Ong remained in service after the crew was revived in the 24th century. (TNG video game: Starfleet Command III)
