For other uses, see Targ.

The IKS Targ was a Klingon starship, a B'rel-class bird of prey in Imperial Defense Force service in the 24th and 25th centuries. In the 2400s decade, the Targ was part of the forces belonging to the House of B'vat. (TNG novels: Behind Enemy Lines, Tunnel Through the Stars; STO - Klingon War mission: "The Doomsday Device")

Service history[]

During the Dominion War, the Targ docked at Starbase 209 for repairs in early 2374. Also undergoing repairs at the station at this time were the USS Gettysburg, the USS Earhart, the USS Seleya and the USS Enterprise-E. (TNG novels: Behind Enemy Lines, Tunnel Through the Stars)

Celestial and Targ

The Targ combats B'vat's planet killer.

In 2409, the Targ was stationed by General B'vat in the Donia system, as part of a plan to unleash a planet killer on the Federation. First officer K'Valk learned of the dishonorable scheme and mutinied against Captain D'Tang. The mutiny failed and K'Valk was remanded to the brig. A team of Starfleet officers found him there after they eliminated the Klingon forces in the Donia system and captured the Targ. K'Valk revealed B'vat's treachery to them, and together they used the Targ to infiltrate the Imaga system. Following a showdown with B'vat and his forces on a planet's surface, K'Valk left the Targ aboard a Toron-class shuttle and caused severe damage to the planet killer by setting a collision course. Joining forces with a Federation fleet, the Targ used the hargh'peng torpedo gleaned from Imaga to destroy the doomsday machine. To avoid furhter bloodshed, Starfleet Command agreed to return the Targ to the Klingons after the battle. (STO - Klingon War mission: "The Doomsday Device")
