Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

The IRW Decius was a Romulan D'deridex-class battle cruiser (or heavy cruiser) warbird in service to the Romulan Star Empire's Star Navy in the 24th century. (ST reference: The Star Trek Encyclopedia, CCG set: Alternate Universe)

Service history and disposition[]

In the year 2367, Barash created an illusionary world using real-world objects and people for Commander William T. Riker. In this illusionary world, the Decius, under the command of Tomalak, acted as a transport ferrying Jean-Luc Picard and Deanna Troi towards a rendezvous with the Federation starship USS Enterprise-D. (TNG episode: "Future Imperfect")

In 2370, under Commander Atrani, Decius encountered the Oberth-class USS Alcubierre adrift in unclaimed space in the Elicona sector. At the time, both the ship's CO and XO Subcommander D'Nal were under the influence of bluegill neural parasites. Atrani diverted Decius to the Kortar space station and left D'Nal's boarding party to repair and gain control of Alcubierre.

Concerned with how deep the bluegill infestation might have reached in the Empire, Centurion Drusa was able to assume command of the Decius. Bringing the ship to Kortar, he offered to ally with a Starfleet crew to defeat their common enemy. But after arriving at Cordolan IV and transmitting the coordinates of a bluegill infestation on Moana III, the ship self destructed with a loss of all hands. Evidence pointed toward sabotage. (Adventures RPG module: A Star Beyond the Stars)

Background[]

The type is from the TNG episode: "Contagion" (battle cruiser) or from the reference book Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Technical Manual (heavy cruiser). It is a safe assumption that the Decius was in service in 2367, as the world created by Barash was crafted from the memories of William T. Riker.
