The IRW Valdore was a Romulan Mogai-class warbird starship of the Star Empire's Star Navy in the 24th century, under the command of Commander Donatra. The vessel was named for Admiral Valdore i'Kaleh tr'Ihaimehn.
History[]
The Valdore was first detected under construction by Starfleet in 2373. (ST reference: The Official Starships Collection issue 123: "Romulan Science Vessel")
The Valdore was Donatra's base of operations in the 2379 Battle of the Bassen Rift, where her small task force joined with the USS Enterprise to stop Shinzon of Remus from attacking the Federation capital planet, Earth. (TNG movie & novelization: Star Trek Nemesis; WizKids modules: Tactics, Attack Wing, ST website: StarTrek.com)
The Valdore later served in the battle with Reman forces in orbit of Romulus just prior to the treaty establishing Remus as a protectorate of the Klingon Empire, and was transported to the Small Magellanic Cloud while investigating the disappearance of a Romulan fleet loyal to Donatra. The Valdore later made it safely back to the Milky Way Galaxy. (TTN novels: Taking Wing, The Red King)
The Valdore was amongst those ships loyal to Donatra that assumed control of Achernar Prime in 2380; it became the flagship of the Imperial Romulan State after Donatra declared its existence in December of that year. (ST novel: Articles of the Federation)
Alternate reality[]
In the Kelvin timeline, the USS Enterprise encountered the Valdore in Romulan space in the mid-23rd century. The Enterprise battled and, with some difficulty, defeated the Valdore. Captain James T. Kirk remarked that the ship was a bit bigger than he had expected. (TOS video game: The Mobile Game)
- How or why the Valdore exists in the 23rd century of the alternate reality is not clear. It is possible the ship was simply built earlier in that timeline, or that it's a predecessor to Donatra's ship. However, the ship appears identical to Donatra's Valdore. Additionally, it is possible that the Valdore somehow traveled back through time, perhaps through the same black hole used by Nero to reach the past.
