The IRW Valdore was a 24th century Romulan Empire starship, a Scimitar-class dreadnought warbird in Imperial Romulan Fleet service in the 2380s[2][3] decade. Valdore's commanding officer was Commander Donatra. By the 2400s, the Valdore was a Borg ship and Donatra a drone in the Collective. (STO - Borg Advance mission: "Khitomer Vortex")
Service history and disposition[]
The Scimitar-class Valdore was one of a number of ships named for Valdore, a 22nd century Romulan admiral. This ship succeeds a previous Mogai-class IRW Valdore in service circa the year 2379, also commanded by Donatra.
24th century[]
Following the reunification of the Romulan Star Empire and the Imperial Romulan State, Donatra visited Crateris aboard the Valdore to meet with General Xiomek in the year 2387.
On their return trip tp Romulus. the ship went missing in an ion storm on stardate 64444.5. The D'deridex-class warbirds searching for the Valdore failed to recover the missing vessel. (STO website: The Path to 2409)
25th century[]
By the 2400s, the vessel and its crew had been assimilated by the Borg. Massive superstructures covered the hull of the Borg dreadnought. The assimilated Valdore possessed a thalaron generator capable of destroying virtually any vessel caught in the blast radius. It was also capable of deploying Borg tractor probes.
In 2409, during a battle with the Collective in the Quadra Sigma star system, a detachment of starships from Star Fleet Battle Group Omega encountered the Valdore after destroying a pair of transwarp conduits. Admiral D'Vak was shocked to learn the fate of Donatra. Following the destruction of the Valdore, Donatra and other drones exited the scene through escape pods. (STO - Borg Advance mission: "Khitomer Vortex")
A task force tracked them to a Borg base. The team was forced to kill Donatra's Reman henchman Tosk of Borg, who may or may not have been the former Xiomek, before killing Donatra. (STO - Borg Advance mission: "Khitomer in Stasis")
Legacy[]
After the loss of this vessel to assimilation, another Romulan ship succeeded it in name. In the fledgling Romulan Republic Navy, the RRW Valdore served as lead ship of the Valdore-class heavy warbird, a variant of the Mogai class, by 2409. (STO website: Legacy of Romulus: Romulan Warbird Stats)
