In the mirror universe, the ISS Cerberus (NX-95560) was a 25th century Imperial Terran starship, a tier 5-rated Cerberus-class patrol escort and lead ship of its class, in Imperial Starfleet service in the 2400s decade. (STO - Cardassian Struggle mission: "Defend the Beta Ursae Sector Block")
Service history and disposition[]
Namesakes[]
In Greek mythology on Earth, Cerberus was a three-headed dog who acted as guardian of the underworld. The heads barked of the past, present and future. (TNG novel: Gulliver's Fugitives}
In 2370s decade of the First Splinter[3] timeline, Federation Starfleet commissioned a Prometheus-class starship named USS Cerberus. (DS9 - Avatar novel: Book One)
In the primary universe, the USS Cerberus (NX-95560) launched in the 2390s and represented an evolution of the Prometheus-class, serving as the lead ship of the Federation's Cerberus class. (STO website: Ships of the Line)
Active service[]
In the year 2409, the ISS Cerberus was part of the Imperial fleet directed by Captain James O'Brien to invade and harass civilian shipping in space controlled by the Cardassian Union and patrolled by the United Federation of Planets. The Cerberus and its compatriots hid in nebulae of the Beta Ursae sector block. The ship was frequently engaged in firefights. (STO - Cardassian Struggle mission: "Defend the Beta Ursae Sector Block")
The Cerberus was part of an invasion fleet that sacked a Federation starbase. A task force of five Starfleet ships arrived to defend the space station and repel the Terrans and their lead ship, a Galaxy X-class dreadnought. (STO - Call to Arms mission: "Mirror Invasion")
The Galaxy X-class dreadnought ISS Devron led an Imperial fleet, including the Cerberus, in attacking the Reman-operated Romulan Republic outpost Vauthil Station in the galaxy's Beta Quadrant. An allied task force consisting of Federation Starfleet, Klingon Defense Force and Romulan Republic Navy ships defended Vauthil Station against the invasion fleet, closed rifts and activated relays to power up the station's defenses. The Allies were directed by Obisek. The Devron entered the battle after a sizeable portion of the invasion fleet was pushed back into the mirror universe by an anti-tachyon pulse initiated by Vauthil Station, and led the remainder of the forces until their defeat. (STO - The Sphere mission: "Terran Empire Incursion")
