Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

A friendly reminder regarding spoilers! At present the expanded Trek universe is in a period of major upheaval with the continuations of Discovery and Prodigy, the advent of new eras in gaming with the Star Trek Adventures RPG, Star Trek: Infinite and Star Trek Online, as well as other post-57th Anniversary publications such as the ongoing IDW Star Trek comic and spin-off Star Trek: Defiant. For the primary universe counterpart, see USS Hydra.
For other uses, see Hydra.

In the mirror universe, the ISS Hydra (NCC-97990) was a 25th century Terran Empire starship, a Terran tier 6-rated Hydra-class intel destroyer and prototype of its class, in Imperial Starfleet service in the 2410s decade. (STO website: Refractions: The 13th Anniversary Terran Bundle!)

Service history and disposition[]

Hydra class variants

The Hydra-class-derived intel starships in 2411.

Following the abdication of Wesley Crusher as the Emperor of the Terran Empire in 2411[3], Imperial Starfleet comissioned the ISS Hydra as the lead ship of a new class that combined the traits of an intel starship with a destroyer.

The Hydra was based on the 24th century Prometheus-class escort and its 2410s-era successor, the modern Hestia-class escort. (STO website: The Iconian War: Hestia Advanced Escort Stats)

Styx fleet

Hydra and its fleet at Earth.

In return, the ISS Hestia and the ISS Prometheus were among the patrol escorts refitted to the intel destroyer configuration heralded by the Hydra. At one point, the Hydra joined a fleet in orbit of Earth, consisting of the ISS Monitor, ISS Glenn, ISS Sirius, ISS Eagle and ISS Styx. (STO website: Refractions: The 13th Anniversary Terran Bundle!)

From the year 2411 onward, the Hydra represented the mirror Hydra-class on the shipyards interfaces operated by New Romulus Shipyards, Klingon Defense Force Order of Builders and Starfleet Shipyards Operations at Khitomer Alliance facilities across the Milky Way Galaxy. (STO - Refractions missions: "Explore the Flotilla", "The Hunt is On", "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")

Flag officers of the Alliance could deploy the Hydra alongside other spacecraft for assignments across the galaxy's quadrants as part of Operation: Delta Rising's four-quadrant strategy. (STO - New Dawn mission: "Admiralty System")

Its counterpart in the primary universe was the USS Hydra, registry number NCC-97990, which was operated by Federation Starfleet. (STO website: Refractions: The 13th Anniversary Terran Bundle!)
