The original Phoenix spacecraft was a 21st century Earth vessel. It was the first Terran vehicle to break the warp barrier in the year 2063. It was named for the mythological Phoenix, a bird rising from fire. (ENT episode: "In a Mirror, Darkly")

In the primary universe, the USS Phoenix (NX-95560) launched in the 2390s and represented an evolution of the Prometheus-class, serving as the lead ship of the Federation's Phoenix-class advanced escorts. (STO website: Ships of the Line)

Active service[]

In the 2400s, the ISS Phoenix had a crew complement of 200 people.

In the year 2409, the Phoenix was one of several mirror universe starships, alongside the Dervish-class advanced escort ISS Dervish, Vo'Quv-class carrier AKS Vo'Quv and Ha'feh-class assault warbird ARW Ha'feh, brought into the primary universe through the machinations of the Tholian Assembly. The ships and vessels of their respective clases ermerged in the Azure Nebula, located in the galaxy's Beta Quadrant. Rated as tier 5 patrol escorts by military powers, the Phoenix and its sister ships were offered by the Ferengi-operated Lobi Crystal Consortium to Federation Starfleet, Klingon Defense Force and Romulan Republic Navy.
