Summary
Captain's log, stardate 43878.1 Our investigation of the mysterious force tides recorded at Starbase 173 has led us to something even more mysterious -- an eruption of energy and matter, the magnitude of which is unparalleled in the annals of Federation research. Or so our computer informs us. To make matters even more interesting, this eruption seems to have no source. It appears to be coming out of nowhere. Though the phenomenon seems stable enough, we are maintaining a position at the outer limits of our sensor range -- just in case the thing decides to become volatile."
