Iad was an uninhabited world, a class M planet in a red giant star system, located in the Lembatta Cluster in the galaxy's Beta Quadrant. It was the ancestral homeworld of the Renao civilization. History and specifics[]
By the 2380s decade, memory and historical records placed the Renao firmly on their new homeworld, Onferin, the capital of the Home Spheres.
In November 2385, a two-starship task force consisting of the USS Prometheus and IKS Bortas visited Onferin during their investigation into Renao-led terrorist attacks on Federation and Klingon Empire holdings. The Onferin acquiesced to the investigation to avoid military retaliation by the Klingons. (PRM novel: Fire with Fire)
The Bortas was destroyed in battle over Iad, while the Prometheus resolved the mystery of Renao aggression, caused by alien radiation. (PRM novel: In the Heart of Chaos)
