An idaja was an animal lifeform, a type of flying insect found on the planet Cardassia Prime.

History and specifics[]

When Enabran Tain was a boy, about nine years old, he got into an argument with a friend who had caught an idaja and wanted to pull its wings off. Tain severely attacked his friend, almost blinding him in one eye, before proceeding to tear off a wing of the insect himself. (STA novel: Oblivion)
