The Ignatin family was an Orion family of the 11th century.
One of its number, Boyor Ignatin, became President of the Botchok Planetary Congress and on March 21st, 1003 CE (reference stardate −10/0303.21) he seized dictatorial powers, ultimately becoming the first Emperor of the Orion Colonies.
However, when Boyor was assassinated in October 1062 CE (stardate −10/6210), clan warfare and rioting broke out. This spread to destroy the entirety of the Ignatin family. (FASA RPG module: The Orions: Book of Common Knowledge)
