Technical data[edit | edit source]
The most notable structural feature of the Imperial-class was the prominent build up along the upper surface of the neck and rear of the saucer section. The saucer itself was also thinner than any other assault cruiser. The nacelle pylons were also very rigid and the warp nacelles were placed very forward on the design, compared to its parent design.
There were two variants of the Imperial-class, the original assault cruiser variant and a fleet assault cruiser refit variant. Both variants sported 2 foward-firing and 2 aft-firing phaser arrays and 2 foward-firing and 2 aft-firing torpedo launchers, as well as deflector shields. However, while the original variant was only equipped with Type-VIII phasers and Mark VIII torpedo launchers and shield generators, the refit variant was equipped with Type-X phasers and Mark X torpedo launchers and shield generators.
