Inar is a formerly inhabited planet, the world of the Djana, located somewhere in the space of the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrants. The Djanai from Djana colonized Inar and became culturally distinct, known as the Inari civilization. Their technology advanced more rapidly than that of their neighbors on their original homeworld. When Inar became uninhabitable, the Inari returned to Djana and took over the government. (TOS novel: The Lost Years)
