Inari were a culturally distinct, colonial offshoot of the Djanai, although biologically identical. They were descended from those Djanai who colonized Inar, achieving technological superiority over their neighbors on the motherworld of Djana. However, when Inar became uninnhabitable, the Inari returned to Djana and took over the government, joining the Federation, a move which the Djanai did not support.
