The Institute of Living was an institute of mental health in Hartford, Connecticut, established in 1823 as one of the first mental hospitals in the United States of America.

In 2363, Dr. Kevin Pointer was on the staff of the Institute of Living. While there, he provided help to both Morgan Primus and her daughter, Robin Lefler. (NF - No Limits short story: "Alice, on the Edge of Night")
