Intercom 23rd Century Marvel Comics

A typical wall mounted intercom used on Starfleet starships in the mid-23rd century.

An intercom was a stationary communications technology used aboard Federation starships to facilitate intraship communications. It is commonly found on a wall but could also be integrated into command chairs, consoles and desks.

History and specifics[]

James T. Kirk was about to activate the intercom on his command chair when he was interrupted by Doctor Leonard McCoy who was urging him to get some rest. (TOS novel: Assignment: Eternity)

In the year 2270, the crew of the USS Enterprise used intercom units in front of a time-displaced Shaun Christopher. (TOS novel: The Rings of Time)
