In the Kelvin timeline, the Intrepid class was a Federation starship type, a battleship in Starfleet service by the 2260s decade. (ST video game: Fleet Command)
Service history and specifications[]

The Intrepid-class battleship was the latest version of the United Earth Starfleet Intrepid-class launched in aid of the NX class. (ST video game: Fleet Command)
United Earth's Intrepid-class was intended as a backup, in case the Warp 5 engine program had been a failure, and the NX-class components needed to be re-purposed. But after Enterprise's success, Starfleet saw no reason to let their work go to waste, so the class's lead ship,[2] SS Intrepid[3], had been commissioned by the year 2153 under the command of Captain Carlos Ramirez[4].

By 2262, the modern Intrepid-class hull shared the same basic components and design language of the Einstein class, active in the 2230s. Unlike the Einstein, the Intrepid featured a "half-saucer", attached to a central hull that flared into a pair of upward-angled pylons. A shuttlebay was located at the aft end of the diminutive secondary hull. (ST video game: Fleet Command)
The physical arrangement of the components matched that of the ancestral Intrepid-class of Earth design. (The Official Starships Collection Issue 44: "UES Intrepid")
A contemporary Newton-class battleship.
The nacelle pylons held one warp nacelle each, with additional impulse engines at their end. The nacelle design and half-saucer matched those components on the larger Newton-class battleship. Like the Newton, the primary impulse engine was located at the aft end of the battleship. On the Intrepid it sat below the shuttlebay's clamshell doors, however.
The primary impulse engines, glowing red, were attached at the bag of the circular module in the center of the saucer, underneath the bridge. Additional, white-blue impulse engines sat at the end of the warp nacelles. The Intrepid was armed with phaser banks and photon torpedo launchers. While its maximum speed was warp 8, its default cruising speed topped at warp 3.1 and could be upgraded. (ST video game: Fleet Command)
A battleship on patrol.
From 2262 to 2263, the USS Intrepid and other vessels of its class helped patrol Federation members and star systems, and participated in conflicts and missions in the disputed Neutral Zone. (ST video game: Fleet Command)
