Iolos

Iolos was a star system located somewhere in the space of the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrants.

History and specifics[]

The Iolos system's orbit was the location of at least six planets, including Iolos VI. In the year 2268, the Federation starship USS Enterprise visited Iolos and surveyed the sixth planet. (TOS novel: Ghost-Walker)

One planet in the system was the homeworld of the advanced Iolan civilization and at some point joined the Federation. In the aftermath of the Temporal Wars in the 31st century, however, they were cut off from the Federation and widespread destruction forced them to abandon the system in generation ships, including the Iolos generation ship Maildun.
