Doctor Irenna Suparov was a 23rd century Human woman, a notable history professor and expert on Klingon civilization.

Biography[]

Suparov was born at the turn of the 2250s decade. While pursuing her education, intensive Klingon studies focused on history, Klingonaase, political science, medical science, military technology, and psychology. Additionally, she gained professional expertise in the areas of Federation history, instruction, leadership, diplomacy, planetary survival, and economics. She was easy to talk to, sincere, friendly, and trustworthy. She played guitar at a professional level and was described as having a dusky complexion.

At Sagan University, she completed her master's degree. Afterward, she co-authored The Stars Remember: An Examination of Klingon Society with John Gill. As an Assistant Professor of History, she visited Freeloader, where she was able to study Klingon commerce in the Triangle sector at the Lithan Trade Development Corporation. Her resulting doctoral thesis, Klingon Economic Policy: Isolationist Exploitation, led to her being offered a low-level posting at Starfleet's Office of Research and Exploration. At some point, Suparov briefly met Sheridan's World co-director Kexor sutai-Pallara, after which both realized they were strongly attracted to each other. (FASA RPG module: Conflict of Interests)

In 2283, Organians permitted delegations from the Federation and Klingon Empire to visit the city of Continuity on the Human/Klingon colony of Sheridan's World, to assess the state of the colony. Suparov joined the Federation delegation as assistant chief negotiator, reporting to mission commander Sean Sheridan. The delegations also would hold a citizen's vote to decide whether the colony would become an independent state or ally with one of the powers. (FASA RPG modules: Conflict of Interests, Star Trek IV Sourcebook Update)

Privately, she felt a Klingon victory might avert war in light of recent failures at other Klingon colonies. A formal banquet was held for the delegates at Medark Palace the day after their arrival. That afternoon, Kexor invited her to visit Continuity's botanical gardens and meet privately. (FASA RPG module: Conflict of Interests)

Appendices[]

Background[]

  • The source explicitly stated that Suparov and Kexor met five years prior to the story, and that she didn't know he was on Sheridan's World. Five years prior to the story, Kexor was co-monarch of Sheridan's World. The planet's charter did not permit off-world contact between 2268 and 2283, so his being off-world was probably clandestine. Further details were not disclosed.
  • Unless she was a genius, it would have been difficult for Suparov to collaborate directly with John Gill after she got her master's degree, as he was on Ekos beginning in 2261, when she was about 11 years old, and he died in 2268. She most likely completed an unfinished book manuscript.
