Doctor Irina Kalandra was a Human female who served as a physician in Starfleet in the 24th century.

Born in the city of Minsk on Earth in 2337, Kalandra entered the Starfleet Medical Academy in the early 2360s, and finally graduated in the 89th percentile in 2365. Following her graduation she was assigned to the infirmary on Star Station India.

In 2367, Kalandra was made assistant chief medical officer of the station. She remained on Star Station India for a further three years, before accepting an assignment as chief medical officer at the Decker Memorial Hospital on Ajilon Prime in 2370. (ST video game: Starship Creator)

During a brief period of warfare between the Federation and the Klingon Empire in 2373, the Klingons launched an invasion of Ajilon which led Kalandra and her staff to set up a field hospital to treat those who had been wounded in the attack. Thankfully, a distress call from the hospital was received by Dr. Julian Bashir and Jake Sisko who helped to treat the wounded and gave her chance to evacuate the patients when the Klingons advanced.

Luckily the attack was brought to an end when the cease-fire between the Federation and the Klingons were re-established following the arrival of the USS Defiant. Shortly after, Kalandra left Ajilon to accept an assignment aboard the USS Tecumseh, where her husband, Ishmael Kalandra, served as science officer.
