Iron (symbol Fe) is a chemical element, a transition metal with atomic number 26 on the periodic table.
Characteristics and history
Iron has an atomic mass of 55.847. This element was discovered by Humans for the first time on Earth's ancient history. (ST reference: Star Fleet Medical Reference Manual)
Iron in the blood was one of the few things about the composition of the largely carbon Humans the Horta Ttan could recognize as life as she knew it.
