Captain Ishimaki was a Human serving in Starfleet in the 24th century. By the early 2370s, Ishimaki was the commanding officer of the USS Zapata.
In 2371, the Zapata brought former USS Saratoga crewmembers Zar, Graal and Doctor Laffer to Deep Space 9 to attend the commissioning ceremony of the new USS Saratoga-A. (DS9 novel: Saratoga)
