Isolinear chips

Starfleet isolinear chips.

Isolinear chips were data storage devices used in most 24th century Federation devices using isolinear circuitry, including computers, PADDs, and tricorders. They had a maximum capacity of 2.15 kiloquads, and were very easily corrupted unless coated with a layer of clear plastic. (ST reference: Star Trek: The Next Generation Technical Manual)

Isolinear chips were first mentioned and seen in TNG episode: "The Naked Now".
