Itek'Kalan was a Jem'Hadar that lived beneath the service of the Dominion, where he became known to those among his species for having seen the fallibility of the Founders, their gods.

Biography[]

A Jem'Hadar that was bred in service to the Dominion as foot soldiers for their interstellar empire, Itek'Kalan was credited amongst his kind for having seen the fallibilities of their creators, the Founders, a faction of Changelings that were revered as the living pantheon of their regime. As a consequence of this realisation, Itek'Kalan became one of the figures who were remembered in the stories that his kinsmen told to each other outside the earshot of their gods and Vorta overseers. According to these forbidden recollections, Starfleet Captain Benjamin Sisko — a significant participant of the Dominion War — was the man that stood behind the legends that had taken form around Itek'Kalan and other heroes, like Goran'agar and Ixtana'Rax. In the year 2378, "Zero" — a Jem'Hadar that had abandoned the Dominion towards the end of the conflict and became one of the Cardassian Reclamation — named Itek'Kalan as that his people had whispered to each other about as unsung champions of their race and proclaimed that Sisko, despite his allegiance to the Federation Alliance that opposed the Dominion, lay at the heart of these tales, which the former soldier noted to a Cardassian audience when he testified before Sisko's trial. Noting that Itek'Kalan had discovered the Founders were not faultless and Sisko had been involved with this realisation, "Zero" claimed this was verification that the commander had sought to redemption of the Jem'Hadar.
