For the primary universe counterpart, see Patrick West.

In the mirror universe, Ivan West was a Terran colonel in the Imperial Starfleet of the Terran Empire during the late 23rd century. West was part of a conspiracy with other high ranking Imperial Starfleet officers to assassinate Emperor Spock. West put forth Ranjit Singh, a verified descendant of Khan Noonien Singh, as a candidate to succeed Spock as Emperor. This idea was quickly shot down, as most considered Singh to be a megalomaniac. His role in the conspiracy was discovered when his accomplice General Quiniven was exposed using a captured Klingon mind-sifter. He and his fellow conspirators, including Admirals Lance Cartwright, Robert Bennett, Thomas Morrow and General Salliserra zh'Ferro, were executed. (TOS - Mirror Universe novel: The Sorrows of Empire)
