Ixardes was a Corotican scientist in the 24th century. Ixardes was a scholar at the Ajjem-kuyr Academy, and the first of the Corotican people to propose that illnesses were caused and spread by small "atoms" invading the body. Ironically, Ixardes was proven correct when Ushpallar, the Vorta leader of the Dominion forces occupying Coroticus III during the Dominion War, explained germ theory to the Corotican people, and used biological weapons against those who opposed him. Ixardes presumably perished during the occupation, during or prior to the annihilation of the town of Ajjem-kuyr. (SCE eBook: Fables of the Prime Directive)
