J.B.S. Haldane was a 19th and 20th century Human man, an astronomer and biologist perhaps best known for observing that the universe is not only stranger than we imagine, but stranger than we can imagine.

Legacy[]

In 2274, Captain James T. Kirk described Haldane an an old Earth astronomer, offering the quote to Chak as a remark on Imperator Dykranus's bicephaly and surviving an emergency dichotomectomy. (TOS comic: "Heads of State")

In 2371, Captain Kathryn Janeway thought of Haldane and his quote when confronted with the notion of a wormhole being powered by an artificial supernova. (VOY - Invasion! novel: The Final Fury)
