J. Michael Straczynski (often abbreviated JMS) is the writer of one Star Trek: The Original Series comic, "Worldsinger," Issue #16 of the second series published by DC Comics. He lives in the Los Angeles area.

Straczynski has become much more well-known in the years since the original publication of "Worldsinger" as the creator of the science fiction television series Babylon 5WP and its associated spinoffs. He has also worked on numerous other television series before and since (including He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, She-Ra: Princess of Power, The Real Ghostbusters, Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future, Murder, She Wrote, and Jeremiah), as well as writing feature film screenplays and working in other media.

He has continued to write comic books on a regular basis, including extended runs on regular titles from both DC Comics and Marvel Comics, former publishers of Star Trek comics.

In 2004, Straczynski and Bryce Zabel wrote a treatment for a potential new Star Trek series which would serve to "reboot" the franchise, but that proposal was ultimately rejected. [1]
