- For the primary universe counterpart, see Jabin.
In the mirror universe, First maje Jabin was the leader of the Kazon-Ogla sect on Ocampa V during the late 24th century.
In 2371, the Kazon-Ogla captured a young Ocampa female named Kes, who had made her way from the subterranean city in which her people resided to the surface of the planet. Over time, she began a relationship with a Talaxian trader named Neelix, who frequently did business with Jabin and his men.
Over the course of several months, Jabin ordered that Kes be tortured into revealing how to access the Ocampa city and because he and his men viewed her as being ugly. Kes' captivity was made worse by her telepathic abilities as she was consequently aware that one of her captors, Raltik, sought to rape her until she talked while another, Garthik, looked forward to the day that she would mix up the two buckets which she used to eat from and defecate into respectively. For his part, Jabin was single-minded in his desire to discover if the legends of a paradise beneath the surface of the planet were true. The only question that he ever asked her was, "Where is the entrance to the Ocampa city?"
After several months, Jabin obtained a torture device which he and Kabor took great pleasure in using on Kes. Placing a small square piece of metal on Kes' forehead, Jabin ordered Kabor to pull the lever on a large square box one notch to the right. Kes experienced terrible pain which felt as "if every limb was being dipped in liquid fire, every cell was being boiled, every molecule was being electrocuted, every atom was being vaporized." However, she still refused to reveal the entrance to her people's city. After Kabor increased the intensity of the pain which she experienced, her previously dormant psionic powers emerged and she used them to kill every single Kazon in the vicinity in a matter of seconds. They all bled to death from the mouth, eyes and ears.
Shortly afterwards, Neelix arrived at the Kazon camp with the attention of rescuing Kes from Jabin's clutches to discover that Jabin and all of his men were dead. Before fainting, Kes admitted that she had killed them. She and Neelix managed to escape the planet aboard Neelix's ship but, upon reaching orbit, they were immediately attacked by Jabin's flagship as his crew had seemingly learned of their Maje's fate. In the midst of the attack, however, Neelix's ship was transported over 70,000 light-years to the Badlands in the Alpha Quadrant. (VOY - Mirror Universe novel: The Mirror-Scaled Serpent)
