Legacy[]
In February 1968, Calvin Sutherland recalled that James Bond films were the type to feature a device villains could use to disguise their appearance. (TOS novel: From History's Shadow)
In the 2160s, Antonio Ruiz's nickname for Charles Tucker III was "Mister Bond". In February 2166, when asked why he couldn't reveal his true identity on Sauria, Tucker clarified that he wasn't the character of Bond, and there would be significant repercussions. (ENT - Rise of the Federation novel: Patterns of Interference)
In 2269, Roberta Lincoln explained to James T. Kirk that Gary Seven's preferred method of working was "James Bond style", but Kirk didn't recognize the reference. Seven would later mention Lincoln having defeated "that power-hungry megalomaniac with the white Persian kitten", a reference to Bond's foe Ernst Stavro Blofeld. (TOS novel: Assignment: Eternity)
Ralph Offenhouse enjoyed watching Bond films. In 2369, they would inspire him to hide a saw in the brim of his hat. (TNG novel: Debtors' Planet)
In 2369, after being asked to work undercover, Reginald Barclay hummed the James Bond theme from the films. William T. Riker recognized the tune. (TNG novel: The Death of Princes)
In 2375, Julian Bashir roleplayed in a holosuite in Bond's style, playing blackjack in a tuxedo but ordering a Vodka martini the opposite of Bond's way, "stirred, not shaken". (DS9 episode: "Badda-Bing, Badda-Bang")
