James Arthur Lovell, Jr. (born 25 March 1928) was a 20th and 21st century Human man, an American astronaut most famous for commanding the near-tragic Apollo 13 mission from the planet Earth to its moon, Luna.
Biography[]
In November 1966, during Gemini 12's flight, the two astronauts (Lovell and Buzz Aldrin) learned how to conserve movement and energy during extra-vehicular activities.
In December 1968, the Apollo 8 astronauts (Lovell, William Anders, and Frank Borman) were the first humans to orbit the moon. (The Classic UK Comics, Volume 3)
1970's Apollo 13 astronauts (Lovell, Fred Haise, and John Swigert) orbited Earth's moon but could not land. (Star Trek: Communicator Issue 135: "First Captain of the Enterprise")

The Daedalus-class USS Lovell was named in his honor. (SCE eBook: Foundations, Book One)
In 2373, Department of Temporal Investigations agent Gariff Lucsly mistakenly believed Lovell had landed at Fra Mauro on Luna. This mistake cost him a bet with his partner, Marion Dulmur. (VOY - Strange New Worlds II short story: "Almost... But Not Quite")
