Jane Austen (16 December 177518 July 1817) was a female Human who lived in England on Earth during the 18th and 19th centuries. She was a famous author of romantic fiction.

When dining with Pris Shenkley in 2364, Data used his flirtation files to respond to her. These included a modern adaptation of techniques that appeared in Austen's works. Pris said he was charming and very clever at speaking nonsense. (TNG novel: Survivors)
