Jawaharlal Nehru (November 14, 1889 – May 27, 1964) was a Human political leader during the 20th century.

Prior to achievement of Indian independence from the British Empire, he was one of the top aides of Mahatma Gandhi. In March 1930, he was sentenced to six months in prison for violating the Salt Law. Having read of his conviction in The Star Dispatch, Edith Keeler regarded it as unjust. (TOS - Crucible novel: Provenance of Shadows)
Nehru later served as the first Prime Minister of India from 1947 to 1964.
