Jean Grey was a mutant member of the X-Men team who crossed over into an alternate universe in 2268 in pursuit of Proteus. James T. Kirk was attracted to her, but backed off when he realized she was married to her fellow X-Man, Scott Summers. (TOS - X-Men comic: "Star TreX")
