Jericho was a town in the West Bank near the Jordan River on Earth. Jericho was believed to be one of the oldest continuously-inhabited cities on Earth, dating back to 9000 BCE. The destruction of Jericho's walls dates archaeologically to around 1550 BCE, by a siege or an earthquake.
- In Mission to Horatius Spock inaccurately referred to the destruction of Jericho's walls taking place in the Middle Ages, when the event actually occurred in the Bronze Age.
