Jet Manhaver was a 24th century Human man, an engineer serving in Starfleet in the 2380s decade aboard the USS Cerritos under the command of Captain Carol Freeman.

Biography[]

Manhaver once dated Barbara Brinson. In 2380, when her vessel USS Vancouver teamed with the Cerritos on a mission, two two reconnected. Her current boyfriend Brad Boimler mistook their close camaraderie as them getting back together. (LD episode: "Cupid's Errant Arrow")

Manhaver liked to think through problems, which grated against Beckett Mariner's more aggressive, instinctive approach. In 2381, Manhaver transferred to Mariner's duty shift, and they immediately became competitive, even when it came to settings they could withstand in the sonic shower.

Manhaver joined Mariner on a mission to catalog Kerner Hauze's artifact collection. When Hauze's ship enabled intruder protocols, Manhaver proposed an escape route less dangerous than Mariner's and pointed out that while Mariner might prefer going to extremes, her fellow crewmen might not. He apologized if that seemed like following rules. Together they realized their combined choices led to them becoming trapped, and asked for advice from D'Vana Tendi and Sam Rutherford. (LD episode: "Kayshon, His Eyes Open")

Trapped on the holodeck[]

Later that year, Manhaver was among the Cerritos crew who got trapped by the malevolent artificial intelligence Badgey on the holodeck. During the lower deckers' effort to earn enough merit points for Badgey to release them, Manhaver oversaw a beachside Kaminar simulation alongside Captain Amina Ramsey. (LD video game: The Badgey Directive)

Q was impressed with the intricacy of work Manhaver and Ramsey accomplished in the sim that involved diplomacy, logistics, and navigating other complications. (LD video game: The Badgey Directive episode: "Bring Your Q to Work Day")

Manhaver went for a run every day. The corridor outside engineering was the only area large enough aboard the ship for his workout outside of a holodeck. He offered to set up a training plan for Boimler. (LD video game: The Badgey Directive episode: "Drumming Up Suspects")

In one of Badgey's drills, Manhaver served as the ship's security chief while Brinson took on the role of operations officer under Rutherford's command. (LD video game: The Badgey Directive event: "Wacky Wednesday")

In another drill, Manhaver and Ramsey listened to a ship-wide bulletin from Brad Boimler to keep life support online while Rutherford devised a way of getting the holo-Cerritos out of range of an energy-draining weapon. (LD video game: The Badgey Directive episode "Ruthie Trap")
