Jevonite was a rare mineral found on Cardassia.

The Hebitian civilization made impressive arifacts out of jevonite. Many of these valuable objects where later lost when they were plundered by the impoverished Cardassian civilization. In 2369 Gul Madred possessed a Hebitian jevonite handled dagger. (TNG episode: "Chain of Command, Part II")

The Oralian Way used jevonite for construction purposes. (ST - Terok Nor novel: Day of the Vipers)

In 2373, Grand Nagus Zek was advocating that the Ferengi buy as much jevonite as possible. (DS9 episode: "Ferengi Love Songs")

In 2376, a jevonite figure was discovered in city of B'hala on Bajor. This find interested Prylar Eivos Calan a great deal, as the material had previously believed to have been exclusive to Cardassia and quantum dating of the artifact proved it predated the Hebitians. (DS9 - Avatar novel: Book One)

Later in the year, Eivos gave the jevonite figure to Kasidy Yates, who later passed it on to Yevir Linjarin. (DS9 - Mission Gamma novels: Twilight, This Gray Spirit, Cathedral)
