The Jibetian High Council was the governing body of the Jibetian Confederacy.(DS9 novel: The Long Night)

History[]

In the 16th century, right after the failed Jibetian, which saw the disappearance of the Nibix, and with it Supreme Ruler Jibim Kiba Siber, the people of Jibet found themselves without leadership. Until their religious leader could be found a provisional government was established to rule in the Supreme Ruler's place.

In 2371 word had reached the council that the Nibix's whereabouts were discovered by Commander Benjamin Sisko of Deep Space 9. To learn if it was true a representative of the council sent an urgent message to the station. After learning from Major Kira Nerys that Sisko was absent from Deep Space 9, it confirmed to the council that the commander went off to search for the Nibix.
