John Coffren was a human male working as a news reporter for UFP Today in the 24th century.

In July 2369, Coffren reported on the Apollo 11 400th anniversary and interviewed the three civilian pilots of the recreated Apollo 11 mission. He managed to get a pre-launch interview with Inge Heyer, as well as post-landing interviews with Amy Sisson and Paul Abell. (Star Trek Magazine Issue 162: "Blast Off!")
