In the mirror universe, John Cray was a Terran male who ruled as the last Emperor of the Terran Empire during the 23rd century.

Biography[]

Imperial Regime[]

In 2281, John Cray was selected as Emperor by the Imperial Senate following the assassination of his predecessor, Alex Danaher. Similar to Danaher, Cray was described as "another colorless Emperor". Upon taking the throne, Cray declared T'Pau an enemy of the Empire and sent four Inquisition-class starships to bombard her citadel on the Vulcan Plain of Tai-La. Although the citadel was destroyed, T'Pau's body was not found among its wreckage.

In 2286, after Earth was ravaged by the Cetacean Probe and a pair of Humpback whales, which had rapidly grown into armored leviathans after interacting with the probe, Emperor Cray attempted to acquire credits from Ferengi Grand Nagus Narl in order to rebuild Earth. However, Narl refused to lend him any more money, explaining to him and Spock that the money he and his predecessor had loaned them didn't really exist anyway. Although Narl promised to keep the financial scandal a secret, word leaked out in 2288, resulting in an Empire-wide economic collapse. (Decipher RPG module: Through a Glass, Darkly)

Although Cray's final fate is not mentioned, he was likely killed when the Terran Empire was conquered by the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance in 2297.
