John Winston Ono Lennon (9 October 1940 - 8 December 1980) was an extremely well-known Human musician, singer and songwriter of the 20th century. Born in Liverpool, England, Lennon went on to become one of The Beatles, a four-man rock group which created some of the best-loved songs of their era on Earth. Lennon was murdered in December of 1980 in New York City by a deranged fan named Mark David Chapman.

In the year 2241, in the Kelvin timeline, the eleven-year-old Spock successfully answered a question posed to him in a learning center on Vulcan requiring that he identify the composers of a melody by Lennon and his fellow Beatle Paul McCartney. (TOS novelization: Star Trek)

Sometime prior to the early 25th century, a time-traveling musicologist attempted to go back in time and prevent the murder of Lennon. He was stopped by the Federation Department of Temporal Investigations. (ST novel: The Needs of the Many)
